Mobile Home Directories Mac OS X Server

August 31st, 2007

If you have enabled mobile home directories, it is possible to remove the local user, by simply deleting them from NetInfo (pre 10.5.x ).

A simple script could easily be written to check the time stamps then delete any users and or files and if they have not logged into the machine for some time.

This is perfect for laptops which are borrowed by students, in educational environments.

Note : Files will still be available on the server. This is because you are simply removing the local machine copy of their files.
